Blogging Around Town: Springfield Punx
Da da da da da da-dun da da da da da.
I figured on my first week back to FYIllo we’d take a trip to one of my newest favorite places (at least on the internet), a bonafide consortium of Simpsons-inspired greatness known as Springfield Punx. Run by professional illustrator Dean Fraser, Springfield Punx is a “pet project” that spans three years and countless Simpson-ized caricatures. From Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Inspector Gadget and virtually every pop culture related icon inbetween, Fraser has covered them all in that signature, pasty yellow style. Be sure to check out his blog for a full helping, but here’s some of my personal favorites to tide you over…

Rondal Scott III is an illustrator and graphic designer who tackles each day with Red Bull-induced enthusiasm and is a self-professed Twitter addict. He’s illustrated several independent children’s books and in 2009 his obsession with horror movies and pop culture inspired him to establish the Strange Kids Club, a virtual clubhouse for geeky, pop culture nostalgia.

CHUNK! ZELDA! I love this! Thanks for sharing this Rondal! I just found a new addiction. ;)
For sure, Nikki! I might even try my hand at a few “Simpsion-ized” characters myself this weekend.
