Sketch Slackers present… The Slacker: Episode 1
Recently, I had the good fortune to meet an illustrator named Keith Allen who is a co-founder of an art group called Sketch Slackers. Like many of its kind the goal behind this group is just to be creative and inspire one another through their artwork which often takes the form of a monthly, collaborative draw-off centered around a theme (this month’s theme is Beetlejuice).
Once Keith and I began talking we instantly recognized another opportunity here at FYIllo for an EPIC 3-month Comic Jam featuring some of the most talented artists Sketch Slackers has to offer. A few weeks later and here we are, ready to kick off the inaugural page with none other than Keith himself. Check it out, Episode One: The Slacker!

Ep. 1 "The Slacker"
New pages will appear every Friday at noon from now until mid-December in conjunction with the Sketch Slackers, that’s a new artist helming both the art and writing every week for 3 months!

Keith Allen has worked fulltime at American Greetings in the Licensing Division (Cleveland, Ohio) for the past six years where he creates consumer products with license partners like Hasbro (Transformers, GI Joe). Before that, Keith attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh where he earned a Bachelors in Graphic Design. He also offer his skills in Design and Illustration as a freelancer.
Most recently, he co-founded Sketch Slackers alongside with his brother and a few like-minded illustrators he’d met over the years. Each month the group selects one theme for everyone to illustrate however they’d like as a way to keep in shape and inspire one another. The blog is open to any artist that is willing to contribute.
