Halloween is only a week away, but there’s plenty of horror-themed art shows waiting in the wings for those seeking for a few illustrated scares. Case in point, Charleston, WV is bringing on the fright this year in a big way with their ArtMares show presented by The Purple Moon and Modern by Design.
A part of Charleston’s massive 3-day HallowEast 3 Freak Out event this year (which also includes a Zombie Walk, Murder Mystery Party and more), ArtMares boasts over 40 different local artists with 50% of all art sale proceeds going “directly back into East End Main Street public art and development initiatives.” A free closing reception will also be held featuring live music from TofuJitsu, beer, wine, and hors d’oeuvres on Friday, October 28th.

Rondal Scott III is an illustrator and graphic designer who tackles each day with Red Bull-induced enthusiasm and is a self-professed Twitter addict. He’s illustrated several independent children’s books and in 2009 his obsession with horror movies and pop culture inspired him to establish the Strange Kids Club, a virtual clubhouse for geeky, pop culture nostalgia.
